The UN Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea (UNMEE) is tasked with
peacekeeping and observation duties along the 1000km long, 25km wide
temporary security zone that separates the two countries.

The Dutch Army has placed 700 Marines in the zone and shares operations
with Canadian and Italian Forces.
